"Perfection"
Do not be deceived by the flowing letters of
the word: Perfection...
Its curvaceous shapes lending an air of
civility, grace, and proportion.
Some kinds of perfection are exquisite
not only for their beauty,
but also because of their promise of
Danger.
Like swimming naked with sharks,
consuming certain drugs with three call letters, or
meditating scantily clad in virgin snow.
Rather,
it is in the sphere of the Everyday,
hiding under the guise of a "pleasant experience"
that the unexpected becomes
Breathtaking,
if one is willing
and able...
True perfection is like a heat-seeking missile
that will strike once it knows you are ready to be
transformed by its message. Now yield to it.
Tornado Perfection
hearing for the first time
the closing allegro of Bach's 3rd Brandenburg Concerto.
performed by original instrument gangsters of speed.
True perfection is like a heat-seeking missile
that will strike once it knows you are ready to be
transformed by its meaning. Now submit to it.
Lightning Perfection
seeing for the first time
Kandinsky's "Improvisation" panels in person,
posing for guests
while actually dancing their fury of color and collision.
True perfection is like a heat-seeking missile
that will strike once it knows you are ready to be
transformed by its magic. Now embrace it.
Tsunami Perfection
eating for the first time
the wildly indulgent
imported "Midnight Moon" cheese,
summoning a madness of delight
which overwhelms our ability to distinguish
plant from animal,
past from present.
